Teaching of invasion team sports: from generalizations to specificities

Abstract

 Objective: To discuss technique and contemporary approaches to teaching general and specific aspects of invasion team sports.

Method: This essay proposes reflections on the teaching of invasion team sports from its generalities to its specificities, materialized through its principles of actions and rules of action, from the principles of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU).

Discussion: the themes were addressed in two sections: a) From traditional to contemporary approaches for teaching team sports; and b) Generalizations and specificities in the teaching of invasion team sports. Elements that value the teaching of tactical aspects in a long-term overview were addressed, considering the internal logic of the game as preponderant to the interactions between players and the questions of teachers/coaches as central to the construction of game knowledge by the practitioners.

Conclusion: Despite the difficulties reported by different authors consulted for the implementation of a TGfU proposal, it is a perspective that can contribute to the development of teaching programs for invasion team sports.
