Bibliographic analysis of the explanatory theoretical models of motor learning

Objective: this work aimed to perform a review of the main explanatory theoretical models of motor learning.
Methods: a bibliographic analysis was carried out. The period covered from 1.947 to 2.018. An analysis of the historical evolution and the theoretical foundation of the conceptions currently accepted as explanatory bases of motor learning was carried out. Practical applications for the intervention in the educational area were raised.
Conclusions: the explanatory models of motor learning establish the theoretical basis of current conceptions. Each of the models brings knowledge to the way in which the human being acquires and improves its motor competence.
