The influence of chinese boxing practice on the motor development of an autistic child

Objectives: To verify the influence of the practice of Chinese Boxing on the motor development of an individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Methodology: A descriptive case study was carried out with a 6-year-old boy. As a tool, a battery of motor tests proposed by Rosa Neto was carried out, followed by an intervention of 20 Chinese Boxing classes, and finally another battery of motor tests.
Results: it was possible to notice an evolution of 6,45% in motor development, with emphasis on the body scheme and temporal organization (pre = 60 months / post = 72 months), which resulted in an evolution of 4 months in its motor development that initially it was 10 months late.
Conclusion: In view of the results obtained, it is possible to state that Chinese Boxing had positive influences on the motor development of a boy with autism spectrum disorder.
