Abstract

Objective: Determine the physical and technical aspect of the male MMA fight.

Method: The original articles were identified in Google Scholar, Research Gate, and PubMed from August to December of 2018. In these electronic bases the studies were consulted with the key words mixed martial arts. The researcher used the Galna et al.22 scale to evaluate the studies and included 14 studies were included for this systematic review.

Results: The male MMA match had the effort and pause ratio of 1:1 to 1:4. The high intensity of the standing combat was 6±2 to 18,4±31,1 seconds and the ground combat was 8±72,7 to 50±75,2 seconds. The lactate level increased from the 1st (6,6±1,99 mmol/l) to the 3rd round (11,7±0,6 mmol/l). The volume of the type of attack with longest duration was the attempted attack on the head with 97±46,5 minutes. The winners (7±7,8 times) in the fight practiced more strikes to the head than the defeated (4.9 ± 5.3 times). The winners in the standing combat (30,59±4,8 years and 181±9 cm of stature) and in the ground (28,44±3,4 years and 177,3±8,3 cm of stature) were younger and taller than the losers (standing: 31,8±4,4 years and 180,7±8,2 cm, ground: 29,19 ± 4,1 years and 176,9±8,5 cm).

Conclusion: The study of the MMA combat is useful for the coach to structure and prescribe the physical training, the technical training and the fight situations.
